About the Dual Nanodegree

The Dual Nanodegree includes the programs and training for both the Integrated Rhythms and Early Learning Nanodegrees.

NeuroNet's Early Learning suite of software programs and evaluation protocols are excellent resources for therapists providing early intervention services. This suite of programs is designed to help children ages 3 to 6 develop learning readiness by reaching developmental milestones in hearing, motor skills, and communication. These programs may also be appropriate for older children who have developmental delays.

Integrated Rhythms programs are for school-age children (ages 5 to 8) who struggle with language processing and balance or motor skills. Program exercises require children to move, listen and organize speech patterns at the same time. Movements are rhythmic and include both translational and rotational patterns. Each software program includes 8 levels of increasing difficulty.

The Dual Nanodegree includes (5) five distinct NeuroNet software programs:

NeuroNet Certification Requirements

You must be a licensed therapist to become a NeuroNet Provider:

  • audiologists
  • speech-language pathologists
  • physical therapists
  • occupational therapists
  • psychologists
  • optometrists
  • *COTAs, SLPAs, PTAs

*In order for a therapist's assistant to offer NeuroNet, the supervising therapist must also be a licensed NeuroNet Provider

Once you complete the Integrated Rhythms Nanodegree you are eligible to apply for NeuroNet Certification. The requirements of NeuroNet Certification go beyond the minimum requirements to obtain CEUs. Additional certification requirements for therapists help us assure that NeuroNet clients have a positive experience with the program. These requirements help maintain a positive reputation of the program for all providers.

Following this course you will be able to:

  • Use the NeuroNet Software Programs to develop neural networks linking balance, movement, hearing and vision.
  • Adapt NeuroNet exercises to meet individual needs of children you work with.
  • Explain the neuroscience research behind improving underlying attention, memory and learning.
  • Apply for NeuroNet Certification to become listed as a NeuroNet provider on our website.

NeuroNet Learning is approved by AOTA to provide continuing education credits to Occupational Therapists. You may download a time-ordered agenda for the Nanodegree here

Learning Objectives

1. Implement the NeuroNet Program: to create neurological learning readiness, or the rhythmic integration of standing balance, hand movement, foot movement, auditory entrainment, and speech.

2. Use neurological learning readiness as a tool for automating basic academic skills such as reading decoding, language of math, and handwriting.

3. Identify and explain to clients how the auditory and vestibular systems play key functional roles in the vestibular-motor representation of visual-motor space and in the vocal-verbal motor representation of auditory information.

4. Describe how the calibration of vestibular space and the calibration of mathematical space are complementary areas of brain function; and how the accurate calibration of vestibular space can improve the speed and accuracy of math computation and visualization.

5. Demonstrate key NeuroNet movement exercises that integrate balance, movement, listening and speaking as well as key written exercises that integrate auditory memory, speech, and handwriting.

About the Presenter
